Shopping in Dublin
Dublin is the capital of Ireland and is known for its popular shopping districts, it’s a shopping lover’s paradise! There are a wide range of shops to suit all tastes from the high street favourites to boutiques, designer stores and many more. Here at the Ashling Hotel, we are a short Luas tram or bus ride away from the most popular shopping districts in Dublin.
O’Connell Street, Henry Street, Grafton Street shopping districts in the city centre are only a matter of minutes away from the hotel via the Luas tram. O’Connell Street and Henry Street are very popular and filled with high street shops such as New Look, River Island, Lifestyle Sports and of course, Penneys. On Grafton Street you’ll find boutiques and designer shops such as Tommy Hilfiger and the department store Brown Thomas. There is a good mixture of shopping experiences to suit everyone.
Dundrum Town Centre is Ireland’s largest shopping centre with over 165 shops and restaurants. Dundrum is easily accessible on public transport, catch the Red Line Luas to the city centre and then switch to the Green Line and Dundrum is just a short journey away. Dundrum has many of the high street favourites and designer stores all under one roof. Make a day of it and try out the many food outlets or catch a movie at the cinema.
With Heuston Railway Station only being a matter of footsteps away from the hotel, why not take a shopping trip down to the designer outlet Kildare Village? Kildare Village has all of the major designer brands at discounted prices. Shops such as Boss, Calvin Klein and Moncler are all in Kildare Village and it’s just a 35 minute train journey away.
If you’re more of a foodie than a clothes shopper, there’s many food markets on offer in Dublin too. Temple Bar Food Market is a popular spot in the heart of Dublin city centre and is easily accessible from the Ashling Hotel via the Red Line Luas. There you will find a great selection of different fresh foods such as breads, crepes, street food and different types of cheeses. The market is open every Saturday from 10am to 5pm at Meeting House Square in Temple Bar. Check it out!
After a long day of shopping, unwind and relax back in the hotel. You might fancy a meal and a drink in the Iveagh Bar or if you just want to dive into bed, order a room service pizza and your favourite tipple to your room.
