Day 1

Check into Ashling Hotel and treat yourself to a light snack and a drink in our Iveagh Bar, where the team are on hand to welcome you.
Travelling can be exhausting and with our gorgeous hotel rooms, it’s understandable you might want to relax, but there is so much to do in Dublin, you are best to get out there and explore what the city has to offer.

Take an afternoon trip to Phoenix Park, one of the largest enclosed public parks in any European capital, just a fifteen minute drive from our hotel.

The park is also home to over 500 wild fallow deer herd. The beautiful deer don’t mind visitors but prefer to be in their own company, so it is advised not to disturb them.
Not forgetting, home to one of Ireland’s iconic figures, Michael D Higgins, our President. If you’re lucky enough you might catch him outside with his wife Sabina and two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Bród and Misneach.

With over 1750 acres of meadowland, there is so much to explore in this park. You can embark on a magical woodland walk or cycle, bikes can be hired out at the park’s entrance for just €6. Discover historic features and protected wildlife throughout your journey.
After your cycle or walk, why not pop into the park’s Visitor Centre. There is an enjoyable exhibition on the history and wildlife of the Park.

Two audio-visuals guides can be viewed as well as free guided tours are available for Ashtown Castle & Grangegorman.
Finish up your visit by getting a coffee from the Phoenix Café, as you rest your legs and reminisce about your day on one of the park’s picnic benches – there is no better place to get out in the fresh air.

If you are still in an exploratory mood, the Viking Splash Tour will give you much information on Dublin in a fun filled way. Viking Splash Tours take you around Dublin on a WW2 amphibious DUKWs. Guides provide a fun, informative and unforgettable experience for all ages and groups taking in Dublin cathedrals, Georgian Dublin and much more before splashing into the Grand Canal basin for a short cruise by the iconic U2 studios.

When you return to your home from home, spend your first evening enjoying a spectacular three-course meal from the hotel’s popular Chesterfields Restaurant. From homemade pizzas, Dublin Bay oysters, sirloin tender steaks, and sensational stir-fry’s; the menu list is endless. Enjoy eating your meal and having a few drinks, in our comfortable seating area as you overlook a Dublin night aglow with bright city lights, as you get excited for what tomorrow will bring.

Phoenix Park

Day 2

Breakfast is the important meal of the day, so start your first full day back where it ended last night, The Chesterfield Restaurant. Chesterfields is renowned for its 100- item buffet breakfast, making sure your belly is filled for your busy day ahead.

To get a bit of air why not get a feel for the local area and pop down to the Smithfield outdoor markets, just a five minute walk from the hotel.

The market offers a fine selection of foods with an international flavour, as well as jewellery and beauty products. Local producers offering a wide range of organic food and home baking. After all that exploring you can grab a spot of lunch in our bright modern and sophisticated Iveagh Bar, from light lunches, warm dinners and why not treat yourself to a cold beer, or a celebratory cocktail – after all you are on holiday!

Finish off your trip with a visit to the famous Guinness Storehouse, with its iconic St. James’ Gate located near Temple Bar is the perfect place for legendary stout tasting and taking in the history of Ireland’s most popular beverage. Better yet, it is only a 15 minute walk from Ashling Hotel.

The Guinness Storehouse offers you the chance to discover the history behind Guinness founded by Arthur Guinness over 200 years ago. Once finished the history side of things, you can be a part of the Tasting Experience. The Storehouse allows you to pour and taste your own pint of plain.

Take your pint to the top floor or try a variety of experimental brews in the Gravity Bar. The bar offers a panoramic view of Dublin, giving you one of the best views of the city.
After all that exploring, return back to Ashling Hotel to get a quick rest and freshen up to join us for some gourmet food in Chesterfields Restaurant. The Ashling Tower Burger is a top favourite of many visitors and locals. Retire back to the Iveagh Bar for a night cap.
