Dublin in Autumn

Table of Contents

After a long and busy summer, we are ready to welcome the autumn colours and the more relaxed pace that Autumn in Dublin brings. We’re ready for Halloween, mid-term break and welcoming guests for a well-deserved Autumn break. No matter what you’re planning for your autumn escape, make Ashling Hotel your base to stay for a perfect Dublin adventure. Our location close to all major attractions and with the largest green space in the city practically on our doorstep, we’re ideal for family breaks, couples retreats of groups.

Indoor Activities

Let’s face it, Autumn in Dublin isn’t often sunshine and bright skies. With darker evenings and rainy weather, we’re lucky to have so many indoor attractions so you can enjoy your visit, rain, hail or shine. Discover more of the history of Dublin and what makes the city so unique in our National Museums. Learn about our Viking origins in the National Museum of Ireland or pop into our very own Dead Zoo (Natural History Museum) to learn more about the fauna that can be found across our great island. A short stroll from Ashling Hotel lies one of the most popular and beautiful tourist attractions in the city, Trinity College. While there, visit the stunning Book of Kells, a magnificent illuminated manuscript depicting the Christian gospel and dating from 800AD.

Discover Dublin

Our location on the very edge of the city centre ensures you get the best of both worlds. You can enjoy a tranquil break, taking in the best of nature while staying within a stone’s throw of some of the cities best attractions. We’re close to historic attractions like Collins Barracks, Four Courts, The National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History and of course the famous Guinness Brewery. You can also visit the brilliant Jameson Distillery or its modern cousin, Pearse Lyons Distillery a short distance apart. St Patricks and Christchurch Cathedrals are a short walk away and the Phoenix Park is practically on our doorstep. You could visit Dublin for a month and still not experience everything it has to offer.

Retail Therapy

Shopping in Dublin cannot be rivalled anywhere else in the country. From high street favourites to high-end department stores, there is something for every taste and budget. For a great selection of top brand names and bargains, visit Henry Street on the city’s Northside. You’ll find the best Irish and international boutiques and designers represented on the more affluent shopping thoroughfare, Grafton Street. Grab a unique piece of jewellery, clothing or artwork in Georges Arcade and the surrounding streets & make time to pop into Penneys, one of the most popular bargain shops in the country. Best of all, we’re so close to the action, you can drop off your heavy bags halfway through your shopping trip and continue unburdened!

The Great Outdoors

At literally a stones’ throw from the Ashling Hotel, we like to think of Phoenix Park as our gigantic back garden! One of the most impressive and largest green spaces in Dublin, the park is home to many activities and attractions. Aside from the expansive green space, dotted with wild deer and historic monuments, the park is also home to Dublin Zoo, the most popular family attraction in the city, perfect for a family break. You can visit the impressive Farmleigh House, admire the Wellington Monument and visit Aras An Uachtarain – Irelands mini White House – where the President of Ireland, his wife and his two dogs live.

Drinking & Dining in Dublin

Dublin is a perfect spot for foodies. We have such a vast selection of cuisines represented in the city, ideal for lovers of flavour and flare. You’ll find everything from fine dining to food trucks in Dublin, all with something unique and special to offer. We have one of the best examples of Irish dining on-site in Ashling Hotel in Chesterfields Restaurant & Iveagh Bar. Here you can sample our AA rosette food and service before retiring to the bar with a nightcap.

Pubs are a culture of their own in Dublin too, with everything from cocktail bars to traditional Irish pubs, sometimes next door to each other. Spend an evening in the thriving Temple Bar area, enjoying a Guinness and some excellent entertainment in one (or many!) of the excellent bars, pubs and watering holes.

After a year or so of travel restrictions, we are expecting a very busy autumn in Ashling Hotel. Our location close to Heuston Train Station, the city centre and the Phoenix Park makes us a popular choice for visitors both domestic and international, so book your stay soon to avoid disappointment.
