Things to do for families in Dublin
Dublin has something to do for everyone from the culturally curious, to foodies and even party animals, Dublin has it covered! Dublin also has a wealth of fun things to do for families and because so may families come to stay with us at the Ashling Hotel every year we have picked out some of the best family friendly activities to try.
Dublin Zoo is Ireland’s most popular family attraction. Located in the Phoenix Park, it’s just a short walk away from us at the Ashling Hotel. The zoo is home to almost 400 animals representing over 100 species from all over the world. every year Dublin Zoo welcomes over one million visitors and has something for all the family to enjoy from Giraffes and Rhinos to Lions, Zebras and reptiles.
Phoenix park is just a stones throw from our front door at the Ashling Hotel, Dublin. The park is spread over 707 hectares and is Europe’s largest enclosed urban parks. There is so much to see and do in the park, check out Aras an Uachtarain, the home of our President or one of the other stately homes, visit Dublin Zoo, or check out Ashtown tower. Bicycle and Segway tours of the park are available and are a great way to cover ground and see everything. You’ll also see the fallow deer roaming around the park and they are the inspiration behind the Ashling Hotel logo.
The Viking splash tour is a way to see Dublin like no other and a really fun experience for the family to enjoy. The route takes in Dublin’s best visitor attractions a gives a really comprehensive tour of the city. Tours depart daily from St. Stephen’s green and the local tour guides will keep you engaged and entertained the whole way through. The tour will end with a splash in the Grand Canal.
National Aquatic Centre
The National Aquatic centre is one of the worlds largest indoor water centres. Equipped with large swimming pools and Aqua Zone water park this is an ideal way to spend a family day. The kids will love the many water slides, wave pool and the pirate ship! It’s just a 20 minute car journey away from the Ashling Hotel.
National Leprechaun Museum
The National Leprechaun Museum is just a short Luas tram ride away from us at the Ashling Hotel. This museum is full of fun, folklore and stories and is dedicated to the world of Irish myth. The museum is interactive and fun for both adults and kids.
