Guinness Storehouse Hotel

The Guinness Storehouse – the home of Guinness – is located at St. James’s Gate Brewery in Dublin. The Storehouse had been the Guinness Hop Store but re-opened in 2000. The Storehouse is one of Dublin’s most popular attractions and in addition to a state-of-the-art interpretative visitor attraction explaining the history of Guinness since its founder Arthur Guinness first established the brewery in 1759 it also has the Gravity Bar where you can taste the famous “Black stuff” with 360 degree view of Dublin City. Guinness as an Irish product was first exported from Dublin in 1769, ten years after opening with shipments to as far away as Barbados and Sierra Leone in the 1820’s. Since then has been exported all over the world and is a well known Irish brand.

Dublin Zoo Hotel

Dublin Zoo is based in the Phoenix Park in Dublin and is only a short walk from the Ashling Hotel. The Zoo has been a visitor attraction in Dublin since 1831. It received its first Giraffe in 1844 and the first pair of lions in 1855.

Royal Hospital Kilmainham (IMMA)

The Royal Hospital Kilmainham is a fantastic 17th Century building that has housed the Irish Museum of Modern Art, IMMA, since the early 1990’s. In addition to housing the museum the Royal Hospital Kilmainham (RHK) is also a great venue for conferences and events.

The Royal Hospital was inspired by Les Invalides in Paris and work on the building started in 1680 and it remained an old soldiers home until 1927.
