Kilmainham Gaol Hotels
Kilmainham Gaol located in Dublin 8 opened as a museum in the 1980’s and is run by the Office of Public Works (O.P.W.). It had been a jail and was built in 1796 and played an important role in the history of the Irish Free State, when numerous prisoners were held there during the campaign for Irish Independence. The attraction is open from April to September daily, from 9.30 to 18.00 and from October to March from 9.30 to 17.30 from Monday to Saturday and from 10.00 to 14.00 on Sundays.
